'After the Soft Ascent' is a new permanent work at Cardiff Airport, commissioned by Chapter for the Welsh Assembly Government. The task of the work was to reflect the bilingual nature of Wales for our incoming guests from foreign lands.

My starting point for the work was to reflect this by bringing togther the old and the new, drawing on Wales long established history of poetry, song and story telling; practically speaking, the work is a composite of a line from a Dylan Thomas poem (after the soft ascent) and the title of Super Furry Animals song (Pan Ddaw'r Wawr).

To see it, all you have to do is catch an international flight in to Cardiff Airport. If you don't think you'll be doing that any time soon, then click HERE to see another couple of images (just click on the image itself to progress through them)...
