The Death of Peter Fechter
Commissioned by the ICA, London, this was a reenactment of the final hour in the life and death of Peter Fechter; a young citizen of the DDR, shot and fatally wounded attempting to escape over the Berlin Wall in 1962.
It All Began With Richard Burton
Commissioned by the Whitstable Biennale, this was a guided coach trip along the North Coast of Kent, where S Mark Gubb grew up.
God So Loves Decay
Commissioned by Sunridge Avenue Projects, this was a one-off performance in Luton town centre where punk musician, Russ Crimewave, spent the day 'preaching' the lyrics of UK Decay.
History of a Time to Come
Commissioned by CRATE, Margate, as part of their 'Bad Translation' season, this involved the production of a zine in collaboration with Road Kill, based on a transcript of the artist's hypnotic regression, back to his teenage years living in the town.
Last Supper at the Death Row Diner
Commissioned by Ceri Hand, this took the form of a dinner with invited guests, where the menu was based on the final meals of infamous death row prisoners.
Among the Living
A national touring project curated by S Mark Gubb around the crossovers between art and skateboarding. Partners included the ICA and Milton Keynes Gallery, with artists including Juneau Projects, Ross Sinclair and David Burrows.
A Real Rock Archive
Commissioned by The Public, West Bromwich, this was an online archive and live event pertaining to the birth of Heavy Metal in the West Midlands region (UK).
